Q: What is Physical Therapy?

A: Physical Therapy is treatment to relieve pain, improve mobility and to improve fitness.  Treatment includes exercises, manual therapy, modalities and education.

Q: Do I have to be an athlete or in great physical shape to have Physical Therapy?

A: Absolutely not!  The machines might look intimidating, but Physical Therapy is not like going to a gym to work out.  We treat patients that are in all states of physical fitness.

Q: Will Physical Therapy hurt?

A: The old fashioned saying “No Pain, No Gain” is not always the best way.  Physical Therapy techniques are design to reduce your pain not to cause more pain. There are very few conditions where pain is not avoidable, but they are the exceptions and not the rule.  Pain is very individual and we will listen to you and make therapy as comfortable as possible.
